Learn the history of the iconic Royal Flying Doctor Service and the shocking Bombing of Darwin in 1942 through an interactive virtual reality experience. Step inside this incredible facility and strap on the virtual reality headset to watch the drama unfold before your eyes on that fateful day in February 1942. Relive history as it is brought to life in a never before seen movie production. The museum also houses a full size Japanese Zero aircraft that hangs from the ceiling and interactive story boards, touchscreens and holograms of Commanding Officers that narrate their own version of events of the bombing. Visitors can also learn more about the activities of the aero medical service that has been helping Australians since 1939.
The Royal Flying Doctor Service is a must see for locals and visitors alike to understand a piece of Australian history presented in an informative yet entertaining way.
